This document is intended to inform Meridian staff on key talking points related to the development of MCGL. Staff are expected to utilize these talking points when explaining this partnership to external partners, vendors, funders, and others.
Key Talking Points:
- The goal is to combine the professional capacity of Meridian’s Professional Exchanges and GlobalConnect Divisions under the umbrella of the Meridian Center for Global Leadership (MCGL).
- These two teams have worked side by side for many years, designing and implementing similar people-to-people exchange programs, and supporting each other informally, as needed. Meridian now seeks to strengthen its overall exchanges activity by formalizing the relationship between these two divisions.
- Developing the MCGL will help Meridian exchanges staff share professional capacity to better serve the US Department of State (ECA, regional bureaus, and U.S. missions abroad) and our private sector partners.
- Through this partnership, Meridian will explore and implement shared best practices to strengthen current exchanges and support development of future exchange programs.
- MCGL will support Meridian's work to fulfill its equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives by developing tailored exchange programs that showcase America’s diverse demographic society.
- MCGL will allow for streamlined communication to external stakeholders about our capacity to create tailored, targeted exchange programs.
- This partnership will transpire over a multi-year phased process so that Meridian can ensure a seamless transition and avoid any disruption of its current grant portfolio.
