Campaigns are generally used to track events or to otherwise group together individuals for targeted or marketing purposes.

Campaigns

Campaigns are native Salesforce objects. At Meridian we use Campaigns to track groups of people outside of projects – for event management, communications and outreach, board membership, etc.

Record Types

We have several different types of Record Types for Campaigns – a Record Type determines the fields you will have access to, the layout of the Campaign, and the values of the picklists within the Campaigns. Below is a brief description of each type of Campaign, along with an example of the Campaigns currently listed under each.

Note: the below list is not comprehensive of all Campaigns. You may see some of these Campaigns, but not others, depending on your Salesforce user details. We may also add Campaign Record Types to Salesforce and not update them on this page. You should see the descriptions of each Campaign type within Salesforce to help you make your decision on which type to use.

Hierarchies

We can create Campaign Hierarchies to keep track of different groups of people within the same Campaign-type. Below you can see a clip of the Meridian Ball Campaign hierarchy, which shows each Ball and the sub-Campaigns associated with each one. Campaign hierarchies follow a similar design of Account hierarchies.
